Meet Annamaria
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner & Owner
Annamaria started her journey in 2018 after she graduated from nursing school at the University of Cincinnati. She began working as a nurse on an orthopedic and trauma unit, where she became a charge nurse and got experience orienting new nurses. She then started working toward her dream of working in mental health by obtaining a job on the psychiatric unit of the same hospital. Once she started her master's program, she decided to dive fully into psychiatry and got a job at a psychiatric hospital in Columbus. Here she was able to get experience as a nurse in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric settings. In the outpatient setting, she worked side by side with the nurse practitioner for the PHP and IOP programs. In the inpatient setting, she worked on various units and experienced treating a multitude of mental health diagnoses. She graduated with her Master's of Science in Nursing degree from Northern Kentucky University in December of 2021 and passed her boards in February of 2022 to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She worked for almost two years as an outpatient nurse practitioner at a private practice, before deciding to start her own practice. She has a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and is passionate about providing holistic care to her clients. Her approach to medication management is centered around the individual needs of each client, and she believes in the importance of open communication and collaboration.
" A holistic approach to psychiatric medicine involves treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. It focuses on addressing the root cause of mental health issues along with managing the symptoms. By incorporating therapy and lifestyle changes with medication management, holistic psychiatry offers a more comprehensive and personalized approach to mental healthcare." -Annamaria Pagani
